Anatomy on Cadavers- See the Body as It Really Is

Where textbook anatomy finishes and reality begins

In these small-group workshops, we explore human structure as it truly exists, enabling a three dimensional view of the human form, carefully guided by one of the worlds leading experts in manual therapy and human anatomy.

What to expect on the class

You will be introduced the facility and the classroom space, before discussing the agenda for each day. The aim of all the workshops is to explore how the specimens we are examining, can inform functional movement and the presentations that we see daily in manual therapy and movement practices.

There will be a selection of pre-dissected cadaveric human specimens available for us to examine, palpate, move and explore and questions are actively encouraged. Theory and practical approaches combine with human anatomy, to make this a memorable and enlightening experience.

What's different about this class?

This is anatomy you can feel, not just memorise and the focus is on function rather than anatomical names or locations. Julian has designed these sessions for therapists, movement teachers and practitioners who want to move beyond diagrams and rediscover what connects fascia, nerve, and muscle in the living form.

The opportunity to work with real human tissue is incredibly rare and precious and is sure to transform the way you see your own modality and the human form.

Any workshop with Julian is always a journey into wondering what I have been doing for the last twenty years. An incredible experience

JULIAN BAKER BSc (Hons)

Functional Anatomist and Health Science Educator

Julian Baker has been teaching anatomy, dissection and bodywork classes for over thirty years. Something of a heretic within the anatomical establishment, he challenges the norms of conventional anatomical thinking and creates a new paradigm in how anatomy is taught.

His humorous, gentle and patient approach encourages application over academic knowledge and seeks to dismantle what many of us take for granted.

Julian has decades worth of experience in the therapy field and has a depth of knowledge that is second to none, ensuring that any learning experience with him is unforgettable

"To 'see' the soft tissue we as therapists think we influence is a privilege. Julian Baker makes all the right connections between the 'tissue' and considerations for therapeutic intervention. Functional Anatomy is a must for all 'hands on' therapists. It is also a must for the 'hands off' body of therapists! Seeing is believing.."

What People are Saying...

"Captivating, often bizarre and incredible insights into the human body like you have never seen before. Always life changing sessions, questioning the “norm” as we are taught it and bringing new dimensions to your practise.

If you attend one of Julian's classes your working brain will be changed forever - for the better and you will only want to see more!! His humour is also legendary!!"

Mrs Ellen Woodley

"I have just participated in the scar tissue dissection course. This is an incredible lesson in anatomy. Julian takes you on a journey thru a human body like you've never been before. It is amazing to see how a human body is really built, how strong, how resilient. Eye-opening and educating. Thank you.

I will be back for more."
