In Person Events and Workshops

With over 30 years of experience teaching therapists and leading hands-on anatomy dissections, I bring deep knowledge, a love of myth-busting, and a practical, no-nonsense approach to learning.

I hold an honours degree in Health Science and specialise in anatomy, movement, fascia, and making the complex feel simple. My teaching style is relaxed, intuitive, and infused with humour—grounded in decades of insight into the wellness industry. You will walk away informed, inspired, and equipped to apply what you’ve learned right away.

Anatomy on Cadavers

The Anatomy on Cadaver workshops are specially crafted sessions giving attendees a unique opportunity to gain a three dimensional understanding of the human form by studying cadavers in a medical school setting.

These are not dissection workshops, but instead use a series of pre-dissected (prosected) human specimens, specially prepared to allow a clear visualisation of the areas being studied in each session.

The workshops examine not just the anatomy of the body, but consider the function, movement, treatment approaches and connections that might impact the the areas under examination.

You will be guided carefully in to each workshop by Julian Baker who has been working in the field of human dissection for twenty years. The aim is to allow you to see what it is that you are feeling when you work on clients, giving you almost X-ray vision in your day to day practice.

You will be able to handle the specimens, observing movement, joint function, muscle, fascia, nerve and attachments to bone. This is a remarkable and rare chance to gain incredible anatomical insight, guided by one of the worlds leading dissectors and functional anatomists.

Fascia in Movement

Dorset Fascia in Movement Part One

4-5 October 2025

This two-day workshop transforms the way manual and movement therapists understand anatomy. Blending cutting-edge fascial theory with hands-on practice, it explores the real, functional body—not textbook fragments. Led by one of the world’s most experienced fascial dissectors and educators, this class dives into practical applications, movement strategies, and fresh anatomical insights that will elevate your therapeutic work.

You will understand the role of fascia in the human body, what you can and can’t do as a therapist to change it as well as a variety of techniques and approaches around treatment and movement, designed to enhance your practice and increase your confidence.

Parts One and Two are stand alone workshops covering different subjects and are generally offered as follow ups to previously held events.

Norfolk Fascia in Movement, Part Two

11 -12 October 2025

I will be heading to hang out with the wonderful Brenda Louw again to teach a two day exploration of fascia, movement, practical techniques, theory and an evidenced based approach to understanding fascia and connective tissue.

Whilst this is the second workshop in Fascia in the Movement series, it will still be possible to attend this as a stand alone workshop without having attended part one.

Introduction to Bowen Neural Integration Technique

10 October 2025, Norfolk

Discover the foundations of this gentle yet powerful bodywork method that works with fascia and the nervous system. In this one-day class, you’ll explore the history, principles, and science behind Bowen, learn key hands-on moves, and gain insight into how the technique may influence sensory receptors and proprioception.

Taught by leading Bowen educator Julian Baker, this is the ideal starting point for anyone curious about Bowen and its potential to support deep change in the body.

This is being held in Norfolk prior to my Fascia in Movement Part two workshop

Don't just take our word for it...

"To 'see' the soft tissue we as therapists think we influence is a privilege. Julian Baker makes all the right connections between the 'tissue' and considerations for therapeutic intervention. Functional Anatomy is a must for all 'hands on' therapists. It is also a must for the 'hands off' body of therapists! Seeing is believing.."

"Captivating, often bizarre and incredible insights into the human body like you have never seen before. Always life changing sessions, questioning the “norm” as we are taught it and bringing new dimensions to your practise.

If you attend one of Julian's classes your working brain will be changed forever - for the better and you will only want to see more!! His humour is also legendary!!"

"I have just participated in the scar tissue dissection course. This is an incredible lesson in anatomy. Julian takes you on a journey thru a human body like you've never been before. It is amazing to see how a human body is really built, how strong, how resilient. Eye-opening and educating. Thank you.

I will be back for more."
