The temporomandibular joint the TMJ, is the most used joint in the body. Every time we swallow, speak, eat, or yawn, the TMJ is activated. An incredibly complex area, a powerful couple of muscles, the temporalis and the masseter, hold it in place.
Dysfunction in the TMJ has implications for the whole body, including areas you might not think of such as the lower back and even the feet and ankles.
