THE MONDAY WEBINAR SERIES:

Fascia and Load. How connective tissue responds to force, time, and use — not release

Fascia is often described as something that can be tightened, loosened, stretched, or released. Yet when we look at how connective tissue actually behaves in living bodies, those explanations quickly fall apart.

This one-hour webinar explores fascia through the lens that matters most: load.

Rather than treating fascia as a structure to be fixed, we’ll look at it as a responsive system — one that adapts over time to the forces it repeatedly experiences. Load here doesn’t just mean weight or strength training. It includes posture, movement, stillness, repetition, protection, and habit.

We’ll unpack why short-term changes can feel dramatic, yet long-term change is slower and more subtle — and why that isn’t a failure of technique, but a feature of human biology.

If fascia adapts to load rather than manipulation, the real question becomes:
what loads are we asking the body to live with — and how are we changing them?

That’s the conversation we’ll start here.

ABOUT THIS WEBINAR

Fascia and Load: How connective tissue responds to force, time, and use — not release

This webinar is for therapists, movement teachers, and curious practitioners who want a clearer, more realistic way of thinking about fascia — without chasing myths or techniques that promise quick fixes.

In this webinar we'll explore;

  • What “load” actually means in biological tissues

  • Why fascia doesn’t work in isolation from muscle, bone, fluid and nerves

  • How connective tissue distributes force rather than carrying it alone

  • Why adaptation depends on time and repeated context, not single interventions

  • What this understanding changes about hands
    on work, movement, and rehabilitation

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Fascia and Load webinar about?

This recorded webinar explores how fascia and connective tissue respond to force, time, movement, stillness, habit and repeated use.

Does fascia release explain how manual therapy works?

The webinar questions the idea that fascia is simply released by hands-on treatment and instead looks at tissue adaptation, load, nervous system response and longer-term change.

Who is this webinar for?

It is for therapists, movement teachers, bodyworkers and practitioners who want a clearer, more realistic understanding of fascia and connective tissue.

Is this webinar suitable for manual therapists?

Yes. It is especially relevant for manual therapists who want to move beyond simplistic fascia-release explanations and think more clearly about load, adaptation and clinical change.

READ SOME REVIEWS

Don't just take our word for it...

"To 'see' the soft tissue we as therapists think we influence is a privilege. Julian Baker makes all the right connections between the 'tissue' and considerations for therapeutic intervention. Functional Anatomy is a must for all 'hands on' therapists. It is also a must for the 'hands off' body of therapists! Seeing is believing.."

"Captivating, often bizarre and incredible insights into the human body like you have never seen before. Always life changing sessions, questioning the “norm” as we are taught it and bringing new dimensions to your practise.

If you attend one of Julian's classes your working brain will be changed forever - for the better and you will only want to see more!! His humour is also legendary!!"

"I have just participated in the scar tissue dissection course. This is an incredible lesson in anatomy. Julian takes you on a journey thru a human body like you've never been before. It is amazing to see how a human body is really built, how strong, how resilient. Eye-opening and educating. Thank you.

I will be back for more."
